I am a student with the Orca Institute’s Counselling Skills Diploma Program, and a health coach supporting individuals living with chronic pain. I have completed training in Relational Somatic Therapy (2023-24).
I am offering low-cost, online counselling (with possibility for in-person sessions) for adults in BC, in fulfillment of supervised practicum hours and membership requirements with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT).
My approach to counselling is collaborative, relying on the capacity of the space between us to offer repair. I am committed to creating a safe, caring environment that allows you to feel seen and met without judgment. With strong attunement, we can begin to work towards greater self-understanding and softening of old patterns and the inner critic.
In our work together, I view my role as that of a guide— supporting you to stay present with your inner experience. We will pause and notice how thoughts, memories, and emotions can live in the nervous system, offering clues about what needs attention. Drawing from evidence-based techniques and models — mindfulness, somatics, self-compassion, and neurobiology — we can create new insights to shift long held ways of relating to the self and those close to us.
I know that therapy can feel daunting, especially for the first time or with a new counsellor. I am committed to making this process accessible to you. Whatever you bring to session offers us a meaningful place to begin, and my intention is to meet you wherever you are.
My training includes Relational Somatic Therapy a mind-body approach based on the neurobiology of stress and trauma. Many of our deepest wounds come from early relational experiences—times when we needed safety, presence, or care that wasn’t available. What is too much for one person to resolve, is often not too much for two people together. In therapy, the residue of these breaches can be met with compassion and co-regulation, which can free the body of old imprints.
Since 2022, I have also supported clients living with pain through Coaching For Health— a program that recognizes the complexity and challenge of chronic pain within the context of often unsupportive systems, and supports people to self-manage and regain a sense of agency.
